The Environment Bureau (currently known as the Environment and Ecology Bureau) was established by the Hong Kong SAR Government, to oversee the implementation of action plans of air quality improvement, waste management, urban energy conservation, biodiversity and combating climate change, in order to make Hong Kong a greener and more livable city.
In order to showcase this mission of building a more environmentally sound city, we brought on the Chinese characters of “Build” (建) and “See” (見), as those two characters are homophonically sound in Cantonese, and comprehensively reflect the Bureau’s vision of “seeing the need to build the facilities” and “building the facilities so to see the changes”.

We used 2D and 3D animation to simply explain the five major scopes the Bureau has been “building”, including freshening the air, cherishing resources and reducing waste, cleaning up the harbours, ecological conservations and reducing waste and carbon emissions, and clearly explaining this to the audience.
