It has been a tradition that iconic buildings from both sides of Victoria Harbour unite to form a city canvas during crucial festivals and lit up our city with lighting decorations. Taking the opportunity of the 70th anniversary for our nation, our client, Sino Group, approached us to create something new and unique to share and celebrate with the public on National Day 2019 for enhancing the brand image.
To cultivate a more cheerful festive moment, we collaborated with influential local artists, Danny Yung (founding member of Zuni Icosahedron). His well-known character TTXS 天天向上, that started out as a black and white 2D comics in 1979, is transformed into a 3D animation for the first time and come to life on this huge moving painting along the Victoria Harbour.
What’s more, 天天 is featured as a different traditional Chinese art form, paper cutting, embroidery, hand-dye paper art. This delightful mix is weaved together with greetings in a different language. Apart from 2D illustrated graphics, we have tried with more directions, such as 3D graphics in optical illustrations, kaleidoscopes, and typographies. ve art form and promote brand image for our clients at the same time.
