Like gravity and electromagnetism, love is an elemental force of nature. The power that is able to drive the stars is regarded as the same that compels the heart.
To spread this feeling of love and positivity in Hong Kong two years into the pandemic, our client, Sino Group launched “Love in the City” Valentine’s Day campaign where the general public could take part for free. Motion graphics of “love you” in 16 languages were shown on a 4,000-square-metre-large harbourfront LED facade that worked as a visually striking and romantic backdrop, attracting people of different nationalities to visit, take photos with and share with friends and family.

Many residents, particularly expatriates and domestic workers have not been able to return home for the past two years to be with loved ones due to travel and quarantine restrictions. The campaign also allowed participants to celebrate and declare their feelings with personalised messages displayed on the matching side screen and propel their love forward digitally.
To help highlight the romantic nuance, we designed four eye-catching big screen animation loops using 3D-generated metallic love hearts to visualise how love glows, and it is beautiful and precious. We ensured the colours were tuned correctly to optimise the stunning visual effect on-site and shown in the photos and videos.
The big screen brought on a fun and memorable experience, further extending the jollity of the special day and bringing people near and afar much closer.
